Geboren in Graz. Architekturstudium, Kriegsdienst.
1945-78 technischer Beamter im Landesdienst in Graz, 1950 Mitgründer und Leiter der TVN Fotogruppe Graz.
Ab 1956 intensive Kurs- und Vortragstätigkeit über zeitnahe Fotografie.
1973-80 Gestaltung und Durchführung des steirischen Landes-Förderungspreises für Fotografie, seit 1977 Leiter der Fotoseminare der Musischen Sommerkurse in Neumarkt/Steiermark.
Bekannter Autorenfotograf und bedeutender Vermittler unkonventioneller Ansätze der künstlerischen Fotografie und Mitgestalter der heutigen steirischen Fotoszene.
